Around the lake

Image
The community where my dad lives in New Jersey is called 'Sunset Lakes'. It's not a very large community, and really only hosts two lakes. One bigger one, and one secondary smaller one next to the big one. The larger lake is right across the street from my dad's house, and there is a nice little path around it for people to use. It's also stocked with fish so people can enjoy some catch and release fishing. It's for sure pretty to look at. What a nice view! Though however nice the views Mom kept our walk sort of quick, because when you looked under the tree shades all you could see where black swarms of annoying little gnats. This view made me go 'EW YUCK.' But quick didn't necessarily mean that I didn't get the chance to check out what some of the other dogs in the community were saying. Elvis the golden was here! Later this same day Dad, Mom and I went out for another walk elsewhere...a nice long 2.5 mile o...

First Spring hiking!

Image
Momma and I had us some fun today...we went for our first hike this year! Momma says it's our first of what she hopes to be many of the same....I hope so too, cause this was lots and lots of fun! For this first hike we headed over to the Delaware Water Gap National recreation area, and initially she wanted to go to a place called Millbrook village. We didn't end up going to Millbrook. Instead, at the almost there point she got distracted by a road veering off to the left that lead to Blue Mountain and Crater lakes. This is where we ended up walking! One of the first things we found, or rather that found us...was this little lady! Can you see her hiding in the trees, staring at us? We almost missed her, she blends in so well. The only way we did see her was because there were a few other deer with her, and those deer had started to run before we even saw them. Momma heard them rustling the leaves as they ran and then viola! There she was. Further on in our hike we e...

Wordless Wednesday

Image
...I know this is supposed to be Wordless Wednesday and all but...guess what?! Poppa has given Momma a laptop thing to use until she can get her hands on a new regular computer! This means I can blog again...Woofie

A review and an update!

Image
Am I being missed yet? Cause I know I'm missing Blogville a whole lot! Momma still hasn't gotten a new computer thing, and even though she has been at Poppa's since last posting she hasn't gotten the chance to allow me to do any blogging! Thankfully we're back at Poppa's, and today she got a chance! A chance to blog and even more, the chance to UPDATE my blog! Goodbye cold-blue winter theme...hello spring!

Still alive and enjoying spring!

Image
Momma and I are still over here in our corner of the US of A, enjoying the warming days of Spring! Sadly our CPU seems to be officially dead and gone at home, so until Momma gets her hands on some extra money-stuff for a new one our updates will be pretty limited. The good news is that Poppa has a big 'ol computer at his house that works perfectly...so by 'pretty limited' we really mean once or twice a week as opposed to everyday depending on how often we come over to bug visit his family each week!

Creeping in...

Me? Creep back into Blogville after being gone a full week? Nope! SPRING creeping in! Sure, creeping in super-duper slowly...but still it's creeping in! And that is very good!

Hikes and springing spring!

Image
So yesterday we went hiking, just as Momma promised! Now granted, it wasn't a super long hike; it was kind cold-windy out yesterday and there was still plenty of snow on the ground in the woods where the sun doesn't hit so well. Not to mean plenty of snow depth wise, but plenty of snow for Momma to slip on and fall! Not that she did...but there were a few close calls! Come on Momma! Hurry up! Pretty little waterfall...we'll be back later in the year for a closer look! When it's warmer yet and less snow-slippery out Momma wants to go back for sure. The bank to the creek we were hiking next to was pretty steep and Momma didn't dare go down yet. That'll be for next time when it's drier! Today was ever warmer then yesterday, and it is the first time Momma's opened the windows! It didn't take long for Baby to come and claim her favorite spot when this happens. While Baby sat admiring the outside world from inside, Momma and I went outs...

First day of Spring!

Image
Momma tells me that today is the very first, official day of Spring! She is very excited about it because she says that means colors are coming, and warmer days. I'm excited about it because warmer days means longer walks outside and more playtime out in the yard! Speaking of the yard, do you remember the bazillion-million feet of snow that we had? Well...look at it now!  It's practically GONE, and I can touch in some places the actual ground again! Even though today is spring it was still kinda cold here in my spot in PA, with the temperature not getting higher then 40* (which is still much better then 30*!) and a cold wind blowing. According to Momma tomorrow is supposed to be 50* and nice and sunny, and she says if it is we'll see about going for a nice mini-hike over at  the local environmental education center. I'm going to cross my paws tonight and hope tomorrow is just as she says it's supposed to be!

Less and More

Image
You remember the other day I told you momma said I was looking pretty shaggy? Well...apparently THAT is code for 'You already have an appointment with the groomers!' So it wasn't just a statement...she used it as a warning. The good news is I kept most of my furs, with the exception of my face and feet and bottom. It's been awfully cold, and Momma says we aren't out of it yet. Though spring is right around the corner, winter is hanging on and not wanting to let us go. As a matter of fact, this coming Sunday straight into Tuesday we're supposed to be getting more snow. So no, we are NOT out from mean old winter's grip yet. I'm crossing my paws and hoping that spring comes to save us sooner rather then later. Until then, I think I'll just stay inside where it's nice and warm and play with my squeeky-fox.
