Savoring Summer's Flavor!

Image
Is it just me, or is summer heading out the door way to quickly this year?! In my little corner of Pennsylvania trees are already started to burst into their fall colors and starting to litter the ground. It makes for very pretty looking, but in the long run I am not ready for this season change yet! Summer just started, didn't it?! Well, even if Summer  is  ending  way  to soon, no one ever said that the fantastic  FLAVOR  of Summer had to! Fruitables to the rescue! Fruitables Watermelon flavor treats - the perfect way to extend Summer (for at least 130 tastes) longer! Now, to be honest I've never had watermelon. I don't even know what one looks like! Momma kept saying and saying that she was going to bring some home just for me to try and know what? She never did. THANKS FOR NOTHING MOM.   Now...not having had watermelon before I had no idea what to expect these to taste like. Does watermelon taste like chicken (which I'm n...

More Caru deliciousness!

Image
You all remember last Tuesday when I did a  review on Caru's Soft and Tasty Duck Recipe treats ? If you didn't, you should do on over and check it AND the giveaway I'm hosting for ONE FREE BAG of those same treats out...go ahead! I'll wait.  Back? Good! As I mentioned in the other post, those treats aren't the only yummy things that Caru carries...they almost carry a few varieties of  better then  just like homemade natural stews ! When I received the delicious duck treats to try, I was also sent not one but TWO of these stews to try for myself! I was sent both a Chicken variety and a Beef variety, but on top of those two flavors they also have one made with Turkey and one with Pork! Yummy! Here's what the Caru website has to say about their line of stews: Uncanny nutrition. Uncanny taste. Absolutely grain free. At Caru, we’re as passionate about the health and happiness of pets as you. That’s why we start with real meat or poultry as the fi...

Caru should mean 'delicious'!

Image
...well, it should...but it doesn't. What the word caru, which is Welsh, actually does mean is 'to love'. Isn't that a pretty word? It's also the name of the company who's treat bars I'm going to share with you today! Here before me I have a bag of Caru Duck recipe Soft and Tasty Bars . These bars are made with  USDA inspected duck, blueberries and cranberries. Yum, what a delicious sounding combination! Of course there are a few other things in there as well to hold all that deliciousness together, here's the list of everything you can find in these treat bars: Duck, Potato Flour, Beet Molasses, Blueberries, Cranberries, Vegetable Glycerin, Dried Cultured Skim Milk, Mixed Tocopherols (a preservative). And that's it! Just as easy a list as my Momma always likes to see when giving me a treat! Notice also what these bars DO NOT contain: wheat, gluten, corn, soy or animal-byproducts...which means they are safe for pups that may suffer fro...

Tasty Tuesday - Homemade Frosty Paws

Image
Thankfully my Momma seems to be the forgiving sort, so even though I the squirrels made her super mad on Sunday she still made me something tasty for today. Which is even more special, because she hardly makes me anything  ever -  Not even for my own birthday or anything! So what is it that she made for me? Homemade Frosty Paws doggie treats! Momma says these are actually really super easy to make. Ingredient wise all you need are some bananas, peanut butter, plain or vanilla yogurt, and honey. That's it! Then you just measure it all out, throw it in a blender until it's all mixed up and smooth, taste test- - then divide the mixture up into something you wouldn't mind putting into the freezer (paper cups, a muffin tin, used up yogurt cups, etc...) - Pop them into the freezer and have some patience as they freeze into delicious cold treats! ((Wes Momma: The recipe I used for this came from a generic google search which landed me on this website  and ...

Tasty Tuesday : Banana Bites

Image
....Tasty Tuesday...this means food and cooking doesn't it? Is THAT why you made me wear your silly apron again?! Actually...Mom is REALLY excited about this one, because she LOVES cooking and baking. Actually before she even though of having a dog or having a dog-blog...she had a baking and cooking blog . Or, well...she tried to have a baking and cooking blog. It didn't last long for various reasons. BUT ANYWAY...that's the past. What matter now is the present...and what's happening in the present? Banana Bites are!  Here are the ingredients, and the amounts for each one needed under the picture:  1/2c milk - 1/4c oil - 1/2c. honey - 1 1/4c. flour - 3c. oatmeal - 2 eggs - 2 bananas, mashed (The above photo is a tad inaccurate...mom got curious about oils for dogs after taking it, and went online to do some quick research. In our recipe we used a light olive oil instead of the above pictured canola!) Before mashing your banana, be sure to have your...
