#FuelTheCure!!

Starting today and running through to this Saturday (June 28th) my buddy Oz the Terrier , together with Zuke's , is hosting a super-special blog hop - The Fuel the Cure blog hop. Please click here to go to the main page on Oz's website for this blog hop .  So, betcha you're wondering what's so super-special about it? Well, for every entry into this blog hop, Zuke's will be making a $5.00 donation to The Dog and Cat Cancer Fund . Now, that's pretty awesome...but what is this fund? Well, straight off their website it says: At the Dog & Cat Cancer Fund we help fight canine and feline cancer. We work directly with veterinarians to help needy families get treatment for their cats and dogs suffering from cancer. We offer grants to help scientists conduct research into the next generation of life saving treatments. We promote prevention by raising awareness, understanding the risk factors, and encouraging early testing for canine and feline cance

Check out my new favorite toy!

As always, our good friend Mr.Andrew at  Chewy  emailed Momma earlier at the beginning of tis month wondering if I'd be intrested in giving a try to one of a couple different products.  As always, I was super delighted to do so! This month there were a few  completely different things offered - things NOT edible - TOYS! I DO love me a good toy, and chose the   Planet Dog Orbee-Tuff Woof Fetch Ball with Rope Dog Toy . So, first off, what does Chewy.com have to say about this toy? These Orbee-Tuff Woof. Fetch balls are durable, bouncy, buoyant and mint-scented! Key Benefits Non-toxic Recyclable Rinses clean Made in the U.S.A. I have to say, this toy is SOOOO much fun! Since there's a nice rope handle on it, and the ball is a decent weight (heavy, but not too heavy!) it's super great for playing fetch! Bonus, if it hits a hard surface it bounces real well, so just when you think it's coming down and you can get it...NOPE! Because of the rope hand

REVIEW: Pet Naturals of Vermont Flea+Tick

Image
As you all know, Momma and I (and sometimes Poppa, too!) like to go for hikes in our area on a pretty regular basis. So far this year we've done a handful of them, with plans on doing many more this season...Momma and Poppa are even talking about going on a super-special few nights overnight trip somewhere in New York in a month or two! They say that I'm going to, and oh boy am I excited! BUT as excited as I am about that, and as much fun as hiking is it does have a few parts to it that are no fun. One of those parts is ticks and bugs. Especially  ticks, which seem to be particularly awful this year! Wes Momma: Super gross picture, I know...but after one hike this is how many ticks I pulled off my little dog despite him wearing a Seresto collar..and that isn't even all of them! These were found after a good brush down and look over, a finger scrubbing bath (and second lookover), and then another brush down and lookover while towel drying.  I have NO IDEA where so

Tasty Tuesday - Homemade Frosty Paws

Image
Thankfully my Momma seems to be the forgiving sort, so even though I the squirrels made her super mad on Sunday she still made me something tasty for today. Which is even more special, because she hardly makes me anything  ever -  Not even for my own birthday or anything! So what is it that she made for me? Homemade Frosty Paws doggie treats! Momma says these are actually really super easy to make. Ingredient wise all you need are some bananas, peanut butter, plain or vanilla yogurt, and honey. That's it! Then you just measure it all out, throw it in a blender until it's all mixed up and smooth, taste test- - then divide the mixture up into something you wouldn't mind putting into the freezer (paper cups, a muffin tin, used up yogurt cups, etc...) - Pop them into the freezer and have some patience as they freeze into delicious cold treats! ((Wes Momma: The recipe I used for this came from a generic google search which landed me on this website  and so

Monday Mischief - Uh-oh...

So yesterday if you read my blog you may have noticed a few things. One, that it was Father's Day! Yay for fathers! Two, that is was my first ever gotcha day! YAY ME! Three...some doggy made my poor Momma all upset! You see, yesterday she was taking pictures with her most favorite camera, a Nikon D90. At one point she had to take a photo break so she could take a potty break. Carefully she set the camera on the kitchen table, but left the strap hanging off of it... Photo reenactment! Also...please disregard super, super old chairs that are headed to the dump someday (hopefully) soon.  Then - while she was busy doing her own personal business - there came a loud BANG!!!  from the kitchen, and when she came back there lie her poor camera on the floor in two pieces. The camera body, and a few feet away the camera lens. Momma's eyes landed on me...poor, completely innocent me...and she growled meaner then any doggie can ever hope to growl "Wesley, what d

B&W Sunday, Father's Day Annnnnd...

also my gotcha day! YAY! So Happy Father's day out there to one and all- if you're a father, a grandfather, a stepfather, a fur-kid father, a single mother who pulls double duty, or any other such thing. Happy Father's day to you! I'm also joining in on Nola and Sugar's Black and White Sunday blog hop today...and what better way to do it then with a picture of me and my Poppa from exactly one year ago today! ((Ps- Uhoh...I did something not-good today and Momma is quite upset with me. It may have involved her Nikon D3000 and a hard BANG on the ground...))

She's moody?!

It's an icky wet, rain-y, cold, no-good day today...and Momma seems to be in a mood. Well, what does SHE have to be all moody about? I'm t he one who should be moody! First she was way late coming home! Like...HOURS late!Second, she let me run out of my Stella and Chewy's this morning...and even though she was late coming home she didn't bring anymore back for me! This means I had to eat my Taste of the Wild dry... DRY ! Can you believe it?! And she thinks she gets to be all moody and grummbly about some flat tire thing?! Humans and their silly little problems! (Wes' Momma: It's truely been a not-so-good day. Screw in tire flats are no fun. And then you have a hell of a time getting your car jack from it's little cubby hole. And then you find out your tire iron is missing. And then it starts absolutely pouring down rain, Noah-style. Thank goodness for kind mechanic-strangers willing to help...even in monsoon-like rains. )

Tongue Out Tuesday

Image
Woofie all! Mom's been super lazy with MY blog lately! Going out and about in the world, walking with my poppa and visiting her dad in the hospital...but NOT BLOGGING. She has apologized to me and said she'd try to be better about it this week. Humph. I'm not sure I believe her! I forgive her...this time. Treats are a powerful tool of forgiveness. BOL.
