Well, she thought we could blog again...

'She' being my momma, of course.

Between computer issues and camera issues, we hadn't been doing a lot of blogging.

But then the computer got fixed and a new camera was acquired!

But still no blogging, despite it being a beautiful time of year ripe for fun and photos!

Momma just took this today, specifically for this post! Isn't that red pretty?

The reason? Momma has been nervous-stressed as well as sick.

Why nervous stressed?

Well, her Poppa came home again. There is a long saga story about her Poppa and his recent health issues. To sum it up back in December 2013 he was admitted to the hospital (he ended up having a perforated ulcer in his stomach that, had he waited any longer ((Wes Momma: My father is STUPID stubborn and was in bad stomach pain for about THREE DAYS before it got so bad he called 911 for himself)) to actually go to the hospital, could have killed him)  and then from that time on he was not home (first a few months stay in the hospital, then a few months in a physical rehab) again until the end of May 2014. He spent a week at home before Momma had to call 911 and back into the hospital he went. This time not only was he in pain, but his mental health had declined very severely ((Wes Momma: ...and again, my dad is stubborn. It took me THREE calls to 911, two of which he was still able to decline and they can't force him, before he was so far gone he couldn't refuse.))  Come to find out this was caused by high levels of ammonia in his blood.  After another long and scary hospital stay he wound up back in physical rehab.

And now he just recently came home again on September 19th, and Momma has been stressed since. She's afraid of a repeat - that something happens and he won't call for help, won't let her call, or will refuse if she does. Turns out the ammonia was due to liver cirrhosis and he will need to take doses of a medicine called lactulose every day four times a day for the rest of his life.

Momma is very afraid he'll forgot, or just refuse and bad things will happen again. He's also physically handicapped due very bad knees and is an obese man. If he falls, Momma can't help him up and that terrifies her. Worse, if he falls and no one is around because no one else is at home.

What about one of those life alert things?

Do you remember what I said about him being stupid stubborn?

Now usually when Momma is stressed she takes me out to take a walk on one of the local trails...there are plenty where we live!!

The problem?

The current manhunt going on for Eric Frein. You've probably all heard about this man in the news and the awful thing he did and the manhunt happening for him.

We live in that general area, and so Momma is not taking us out on pretty paths like she usual does.

Oh, and she also had the bubonic plague one really bad, awful cold all last week.

So for the time my little blog and anything that even sounds or seems remotely fun has taken a backseat to other things.

Maybe one day soon things will even out again...and all Momma's nervous-stress disappears. Maybe one day soon Eric Frein will be caught and we can get out to our pretty paths again.

There is one bit of good news: Momma's plague cold is gone.

Mostly.

  4. We know just how you and your mom feels. Our mom has been battling the plague/nasty cold too. Her dad ended up in the hospital for a week recently too so she knows how stressful that is. Your grandpa has really had a hard time lately so we are crossing our paws that he feels better too.
