New things in the yard

Hey Honey, come here and look at this.

Or don't, I guess...that's ok too...

Mom put something new out in the yard!

Well...a few somethings, really.

Bird feeders...and they are really drawing a crowd!

One cedar seed feeder, one hanging finch feeder, and three types of suet feeders. Yeesh mom!

Look, there's a Juno and some friends hanging out on the seed feeder in the tree,

Hello there, feathered friends!

and some downy headed woodpeckers on the suet feeders,

...or maybe they are hairy woodpeckers? Mom says that both species are so similar, it's hard to tell!

and on the ground some more juncos and LOTS of mourning doves!

All in all, mom counted about a dozen mourning doves scattered around on the ground today!

Since Mom put up the feeders, we have seen all kinds of local wild birds show up for breakfast and dinner. Mom's been taking so many photos, she's thinking of maybe making a weekly post here about the birds. Maybe a Tuesday Tweets post, or a Feather Friend Friday.

Speaking of feathered friends....let's go out and try to meet some of the birds, Honey!

HEY! Where'd everyone go?

Apparently, the birds do not want to meet us as much as we do them.
Oh well.

  2. We like Feather Friday... or since they don't want to get to know YOU... how about Flighty Friday...
The Doves really blended in to the surroundings... they almost looked like Rocks.
