A perfect treat for a rainy day!

Image
It's a very rainy Tuesday over here in our neck of the woods...which means no going outside to hang out and run around. Instead we are stuck inside being lazy bums  doing a bunch of not-much.  And then Mom remembered that in my bag she packed me a Barkworthies Odor Free Bully Stick!  Now I've had bully sticks before...but never one of these guys. Of course as a pooch the odor of them is more appetizing then offending...though my Mom seems to think otherwise. 'EWWW Wesley - that thing reeks!' She may have been known to say to me a time or two when I wanted to get close to her and chew a bully stick at the same time. So this one claiming to be odor free? Mom was on board.... ...but was it really? She took a test to find out! ((Wes' Mom: ...be warned...video footage of myself...please skip past pushing 'play' if you have an easily upset stomach! lol)) HUH! So it seemed to be true! With that test done, I was given t...

It's my Gotcha day!

Image
Yup, that's right! Two years ago today my mom and dad took a nice car trip up to Massachusetts, bunked one night in a hotel and the next day came to get  me and bring me home! I was eight weeks old and itty bitty, and my coloring was solid black and white then! Here's the first picture that was ever taken of me and my mom, just minutes after they picked me up. And here's the first ever picture taken of me and my dad! Mom says in two years I've changed quite a bit...but she loves me just the same as when she saw me that first day....even more, actually! I have to say...I really love my mom and dad, too! Here's to many more Gotcha Days to come!!

Little tree frog!

Image
So the this morning when Mom went to take me out for potty breaks, she found this little guy hanging around the sliding glass door! It's a little tree frog! Here Mom, let me see him closer! Now I gave him a good sniff - I had never actually seen one close up before - and promised him I just wanted to say hello and that I would not eat him. I even promised to keep him safe from Honey...who absolutely without a doubt WOULD try to eat him! After my investigation and greeting Mom said we had to let him go, so she took him over by the little woodpile at the edge of the yard and let release him. He very quickly found a nice safe little hide-y hole!

I've got something tasty to share...!

Image
And that tastiness goes by the name of  Bravo Homestyle Complete ! You see, in the month of June I received an email from my friend Ashlee, wondering if I would be interested in trying out this product from Bravo to see how I liked it. Well, I am always up for trying something new and (with luck!) tasty.  After giving her my 'YES, PLEASE' it didn't take long for a package to arrive at my door, containing two of the three varieties of the Bravo Homestyle Complete line. The only flavor that's missing here is Turkey! For the short time we waited Mom did some looking into the company and it's ingredients...and she did like what she found! Some of the good things she discovered were: Most of their meats and poultry are sourced right here in the USA (poking around the website mom found their turkey supplier is Koch Turkey Farms in Tamaqua, PA and their chicken supplier is Murray's Farms in Spring Valley, N.Y ) . A few of their ingredients do come fr...

Some mischief on Monday!

Image
Well...I guess teeeechnically it was mischief on Sunday...but it still counts, right? So...my friend Honey (who, as you remember, is my dad's family's standard poodle) has a thing for anything and everything that squeaks...and her most favorite thing these days is a Kong squeaker tennis ball. We're all hanging out in the backyard, Mom is throwing Honey's ball for her....when suddenly Mom throws it and it just DISAPPEARS on poor Honey! She saw it fly...she saw where-abouts it should have landed...but she just couldn't find it! She looked and looked and looked and Mom didn't even offer to help! She just pulled out her 'ol camera and starting snapping away, laughing. Laughing! What kind of mean ol' person laughs at some poor poodle's plight like that?!  But Honey never once gave up...not until... AH-HA! THERE YOU ARE! At which point mischievous MOM, who later told me she knew where Honey...

Pig Ear day! I hope you all had yourselves a super delicious pig ear today! I know I got to enjoy the one Mom got for me from Petco yesterday. Wait...what's that, Mom? It's NOT National Pig Ear Day....its National Donut Day ?   Oh well...who cares? This pig ear is darn tasty!

Our day out!

Image
Mom and I went out for a bit today! Today Mom looked at me and said 'Wesley, let's go somewhere fun!' and then she put my new Ezy-dog chestplate harness on me and off we went! Hey mom, can I drive?! And where was the first stop we made....? Looks like a long walk, Mom...can't you park any closer?! It was at Petco! We spent a good time in Petco working on me NOT being so barky and jerk-like at people. Mom had a pocket full of cheese bits and other yummy things, so I did my best to be on MY best behavior. While we we in Petco mom got me a new slicker brush, some doggie shampoo-n-conditioner and a tasty pig ear! But we weren't done yet! Next, Mom took us over to Frozen Peaks for some frozen yogurt! I got left in the car for about five minutes (don't worry...it's very cool out today and Mom left all four windows down for me with some water out) while she ran in to get the goods!  She came back with a bowl of delicious! Vanilla frozen yogurt...
