Weekend snow recap
So this winter storm Jonas guy...he wasn't very nice. He came through and left a LOT of snow in lots of places.
For us, it all started Saturday morning. When Mom, Dad and I all woke up and looked outside this is the sight that we were met with:
Dad came out with us this time to help shovel some of the snow, and it's a good thing too...cause he has long legs...which came in handy.
For us, it all started Saturday morning. When Mom, Dad and I all woke up and looked outside this is the sight that we were met with:
According to the info from the camera, mom took this photo at 8:25am. |
A inch or two of snow first thing in the morning...with plenty more falling down! Mom wanted to do pictures throughout the day, but was very wary of taking her camera out into that to get all wet.
The next time she took the camera outside with us was about 1:30pm.
The snow hadn't let up, and Mom wanted to go re-shovel the path from the sliding glass door over to the driveway again. (If there's lots of snow, instead of waiting for the end she likes to go out multiple times so she's only moving so much at once.)
Honey and I went over to check out Mom's shoveling job.
Hey, mom...you missed a spot over here!
Though Honey is getting to be an old lady - she's 8 years old - you'd never guess it. She likes to run around and rough house more then I do!
At this point in time, I could still trudge through the snow, even the un-shoveled parts, I just had to sort of hop.
You still want to play around Honey?
Ok....
RAWR I'M THE ADORABLE ABOMINABLE SNOW POODLE!
HA! That's right Honey, you run away!
Hehe...the picture Mom posted yesterday of me busting through the snow took place right after this one...I was chasing Honey at the time! |
Now...one of the ways my Mom likes to watch and judge the snowfall is the birdbath in Donna's garden.
This is what it was looking like at 1:30pm.
And this is what I was looking like, when I was all ready to head back inside where it was dry and warm.
Mom took her camera out one more time on Saturday, at 4pm.
This is what the birdbath looked like:
Yup! It's one of our B&W pictures from yesterday! |
Me being the big dog I am...I thought I could forge my OWN path through the snow when mom and dad weren't looking. What I failed to realize is that...well...it was a bit deeper then the last time...
And after three hops it pretty much swallowed me whole...
A little help, please? Despite all my shaggy fur...this stuff is still cold!
Dad to the rescue!
Thanks, Dad.
After my rescue I got put inside, Honey too, while Mom and Dad finished up the shoveling.
The only other times we went out were for quick potty breaks, and then we didn't go beyond the porch! BOL
It stopped snowing at about 8pm that night, leaving Sparta covered in about 18in/45.72cm.
Where Mom lives in PA, only about a 45 minute drive away?
6in/15.24cm.
Mom was excited about all the snow because she wanted to take her camera out...and on Sunday that's what she did...WITHOUT ME!
She claimed that it was because there was NO WAY I could walk the unplowed/shoveled paths, and she couldn't carry me because she'd be carrying her camera and bag.
Well...I guess she may have a point there, actually...
ANYWAY...despite her neglecting to take me, I told her I'd allow her to show some of the pictures she took that day on my blog.
Come back tomorrow if you'd like to see them!
That is a heck of a lot of snow!
